Default Looks Like We Get Our Wish Marko Mitchell

I'm excited to see what he can do.

Marko Mitchell
"My goal is to be the best WR on the field, to beat the DB's and to come back with a win." -Marko Mitchell's goals for Sunday. #Redskins.

Friday's news from Park: P. Daniels named Ed Block Courage Award winner, M. Mitchell will play on Sunday, Blades & Horton are questionable.

Finally! This kid proved it in the PS and it still irks me that it took him 7 games to get into a game. But very happy to see him in there. Next year he'll be starting a players like ARE, Kelly will be some somewhere else.

Perhaps this means that the FO has finally decided to work for the future. More likely Vinny is desperate to prove he can make draft picks that stick.

I wouldn't put that on Vinnie. His job is to get em here, it's the coaches job to see that he gets on the field.

I'm not getting my hopes up. There's plenty of time for them to change their minds, a la Randle El and punt returns.

I think they have been reading message boards and newspapers and are making this move to calm down the restless fans.....

I hope Marko makes the best of this oportunity.

Or for the right reasons. Let's see how much actual field time Mitchell gets. And, for the record, I don't count covering KO as field time.

Sadly, this may be true. I dont think its a direct result (such as not hiring Mooch because of the fan base). This is just another reason why the people who are making the decisions will not win (and it happened when Gibbs was here too).

With that being said, Im not sure Marko really does anything. But it sure was worth a shot 4 weeks ago. Another poster said it best..."reactionary"

Campbell threw a perfect fade to Santana against the Eagles and it was dropped. It hit him in his hands in the endzone and Tana dropped it.

I think anyone of our big receivers would have caught that ball so I dont know why that ball went to Moss to be honest. Another questionable coaching choice IMO. I guess that was the best way to utilize the talent we have on our team.

I won't be surprised if Mitchell never even sees the field. I hope so, obviously.

^ Either that or JCamp having Zero confidence in anyone else. Still, Sant ran the route so it must have been designed for him. Why we throw a fade to our shortest WR, I'll never know. Hell, line up Fred Davis out there let him box out/Jump against a 190lb corner. Is That too much to ask?

I am pretty sure the play was designed for Santana, but why throw that route to the short guy? Its almost like the coaching staff thinks too much and trys to trick the opposing coach so they do the opposite of what makes sense to try to catch em offguard. (I.E. Throwing a fade to a tall receiver in the redzone)

"A small spark can ignite a great fire" . . . This is the time for MM to step up and contribute. I don't expect him to be the game winner; however, he has the opportunity to show the other players and coaching staff he can work for the Team. I wish him the best of luck and am excited to see him on the field.
